Circulation: All materials except reference books and journals circulate and are located in open stacks. Currently registered ºÚÁϳԹÏÍøCC students may check out books for 28 days with one renewal. Community cards are available for $25.00 and are valid for three years. Overdue notices are mailed for materials not returned by the due date. The ºÚÁϳԹÏÍøCC library has cooperative lending and borrowing agreements with the Greenville-Butler County Public Library, Opp Public Library and the Luverne Public Library.
Students, faculty and staff may access the holdings of the . Materials may be searched for by author, title, subject, or keyword. The catalog offers users the ability to manage his or her own library account.
Interlibrary Loan: Books and periodical articles which are unavailable in the ºÚÁϳԹÏÍøCC library holdings may be borrowed from another library in the state free of charge. Requests can be made at the Circulation Desk in the Library. Due dates are set by the lending library. Renewals are subject to approval from the lending library.
Laptop Loan Program: Currently registered students may borrow laptops. Students wanting to borrow a laptop must:
Reserves: Instructors may place items on reserve for student use. These materials are located at the Circulation desk in the library. Loan periods are set by the Instructor. Viewing equipment for audio-visual materials is available in the library.
eBooks: To view the Library's eBook collection, go to the Alabama Virtual Library. Click on the EbscoHost link under the "View All Resources" tab. Click on the "Choose Databases" link next to the search box. Remove each of the check marks by the checked items and check the ebook collection box. Click Ok and enter your search terms in the search box.
Reference: Instruction in using the library’s resources is provided to both classes and individuals. One-on-one assistance is available to students, faculty, and staff. Requests may be emailed to the librarian at hcarter@lbwcc.edu or by phone at 334-881-2266.
Online Resources: The Alabama Virtual Library offers 24-hour access to thousands of reliable resources including full-text journals, reference books, and encyclopedias. The AVL may be accessed from anywhere within the state without a password. For access to the databases when traveling outside of the state, a username and password will be necessary and can be obtained from the library staff at the Circulation Desk.
Periodicals: A small in-house collection of current magazines and newspapers is available for casual reading in the library.
Internet: Internet access is available to all students from the workstations in the library. For students who own their computers, wireless access is also available. It is the responsibility of the student to read, understand and abide by the institution’s acceptable use policy. Copies of the policy may be found in the Student Handbook.
Food And Drinks: Only drinks with a spill-proof lid are allowed in the library. Snack foods such as cookies or crackers are permitted. Fast-food or foods with a strong aroma are prohibited. Food and drinks are not allowed at any ºÚÁϳԹÏÍøCC computer station.
Cell Phones: Please silence all cell phones and devices before entering the ºÚÁϳԹÏÍøCC libraries.
Coffee/hot cocoa is available in the Andalusia Campus library for $1.00. Lids are provided to limit spills.
ºÚÁϳԹÏÍøCC is a smoke-free environment.
